Vibrating Table

Mitool Equipments Pvt

A vibrating table is a robust horizontal platform that uses controlled mechanical vibration to compact, settle, de-air, or consolidate materials placed on it. Mitool Equipments manufactures vibrating tables in a wide range of platform sizes and centrifugal forces, custom-engineered for concrete component manufacturers, foundries, refractory producers, food and pharmaceutical packaging lines, and dry-mix powder plants.

Whether the application is compacting a precast concrete kerb stone, settling bagged cement on pallets before shrink-wrapping, removing air pockets from a refractory mould, or evenly packing dry powder into drums, a properly engineered vibrating table delivers consistent results and dramatically reduces manual labour.

How a vibrating table works

Two unbalance vibrating motors are mounted under a heavy-gauge steel deck, rotating in opposite directions. Their counter-rotating eccentric weights cancel out lateral forces and produce a strong, uniform vertical vibration across the entire table surface. The vibration shakes the material above it — coercing dense particles to settle, expelling trapped air, and consolidating loose mixes into uniform density.
The platform itself sits on a steel frame, isolated from the floor by helical compression springs that absorb the vibration so it does not transmit to surrounding equipment or operators.

Construction

  • Top deck: heavy-gauge steel plate with anti-skid grid pattern, optional stainless-steel cladding for food/pharma applications
  • Sub-frame: channel and box-section welded structure, stress-relieved before painting
  • Drive: twin unbalance vibrating motors, foot-mounted under the deck, rotating in opposite directions
  • Isolators: helical compression springs or rubber dampers — selected to suit the dynamic load and floor type
  • Control panel: VFD-controlled option for variable amplitude, push-button start/stop, emergency-stop, run-timer
  • Optional accessories: clamp-down arms, pallet stops, side guides, magnetic mould clamps

Applications

  • Concrete & precast: compaction of kerb stones, pavers, hollow blocks, RCC pipes, manhole rings
  • Refractory & ceramics: moulding refractory shapes, de-airing slip-casting moulds
  • Foundry: settling sand in moulding boxes, packing investment-casting moulds
  • Cement bag handling: settling bagged cement on pallets before wrapping (reduces palette height, increases stack stability)
  • Food & pharma: settling powders in drums and containers before sealing (sanitary SS construction)
  • Powder packaging: evenly settling free-flowing powders into containers, reduces overflow and dust
  • Pet food, fertilisers, agro-chemicals: filling and settling granules in jumbo bags / FIBCs

Frequently Asked Questions

A. Pick a platform that is at least 100 mm larger on each side than the largest mould or pallet you will place on it. Centrifugal force should be roughly 4–5 times the total static load (the mould plus its contents). Mitool's engineering team will recommend the right size once you share your application details.

A. Yes, if the moulds fit within the deck size and the smallest mould is heavy enough that the vibration is effective. For mixed-product lines, a VFD-controlled table is recommended so amplitude can be adjusted between cycles.

A. A vibrating table compacts or settles material that sits stationary on it; the goal is consolidation, not transport. A vibrating feeder transports material along its tray; the goal is controlled flow, not compaction. Both use different inclination, mounting, and amplitude tuning.

A. Yes — full SS-304 or SS-316 construction with polished welds and sanitary fittings is available for food, dairy, pharma, and nutraceutical applications.

A. Re-grease the motor bearings every 2,000–3,000 running hours. Check spring isolators annually for set or cracking. Tighten motor mounting bolts after the first 100 hours of operation, then quarterly. This is the routine maintenance required for a Mitool vibrating table.
